PH.D.
Dr. Ilana Levy-Paris is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in neuropsychology. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Florida and completed an APA-approved internship through the Boston Consortium followed by a two year post-doctoral fellowship. She has extensive experience assessing and treating individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of neurological and psychological difficulties, and uses her understanding of the relationship between the brain and behavior as a foundation for approaching psychotherapy and consultation services.
Over the last few years she has worked with individuals who have learning differences, ADHD, brain injuries, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases like dementia, as well as children and adults with other cognitive, social, and emotional difficulties. In addition to providing neuropsychological assessments, she assists families in understanding the client’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses and the associated emotional difficulties through individual, family, and group psychotherapy. She uses Neuropsychologically Informed Strategic Psychotherapy (NISP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and individualized behavioral plans, to help clients and their families improve mental health, relationships, and daily life. She enjoys leading educational groups and working with families, and has a special interest in parent education and promoting caregiver
resiliency.
Dr. Levy-Paris is a Maryland native and after many moves over the years, has happily returned to the area with her husband and two daughters.
