Dr. Culotta will be presenting at the John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab on recent CDC reports and the continuing rise in the incidence rate of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

This presentation will explore current studies examining genetic and environmental factors likely to play a role in ASD, related genetic disorders with an increased risk for autism, and emerging neuroscience findings.  Updated DSM-5 diagnostic criteria will be reviewed as well as standardized instruments and interview strategies helpful in diagnosis.

The impact of this group of complex neurodevelopmental disorders will be examined throughout the lifespan with consideration of evidence-based interventions, services, and programs likely to be of benefit.
