Melissa Blackwell
PSY.D.
Dr. Blackwell is a licensed psychologist and neuropsychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Argosy University, Washington DC, completing an APA-approved internship in the Neuropsychology track of the Henry Ford Health System. She then completed a two-year, APPCN-approved postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. She has provided neuropsychological services in a variety of hospital-based clinics with individuals across the lifespan, with a focus on assessment and treatment of pediatric populations.
She has experience working with a wide range of patient populations, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning and developmental disabilities, social-emotional and behavioral disorders, traumatic brain injuries, epilepsy, and other acquired and congenital medical conditions. Dr. Blackwell recently returned to the Baltimore-Washington area and joined our practice at Neurobehavioral Associates in August 2013. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and adults with diverse neurological, behavioral, learning, and developmental challenges. She enjoys working collaboratively with families, educators, and healthcare providers to help them better understand a person’s unique strengths and areas of need to maximize educational and treatment outcomes.
