About the Program:
This presentation will address current neuroscience findings underlying dyslexia, a language-based learning disorder, and ADHD, an executive function disorder. Dr. Culotta will discuss recent research findings including brain imaging, genetics, and the impact of symptoms in school and home settings. The role of an IEP, 504 plan, and accommodations in private schools will be discussed. Strategies for success in the classroom will be reviewed. There will be time for questions following the presentation.
About the Speaker:
Vincent P. Culotta, Ph.D. is a board-certified neuropsychologist with more than 25 years’ experience providing assessment and consultation services to students with emotional, learning, attention, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Culotta is president of NeuroBehavioral Associates, a group practice in the Baltimore/Washington region; his team regularly works with families to secure appropriate educational services for their children. Dr. Culotta is a frequent speaker and invited lecturer at regional and national conferences, provides professional training and consultation, has published numerous articles regarding neurodevelopment and brain-based disorders in children and adolescents.
